The pomegranate is a fruit that is symbolic in the Greek culture. On New Year's eve it is taken outside the threshold of the door and thrown down with force. If it breaks it means the household will have prosperity and fertility. As many seeds as there are in the fruit. The household occupants then re-enter the home with the right foot first for good luck.
I just popped in here quickly to wish all of you a very Happy New Year for tomorrow. I hope you all have health, happiness and anything else your hearts desire. I personally look forward to some weight loss and peace of mind. Everything else is icing on the cake for me. I am looking forward to the new year with lots of ideas and new adventures or even misadventures to explore and share with you.
Again from the bottom of my heart, Happy New Year!!
As we are nearing that very special day when we celebrate Christ's birth, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! And may we all have a wonderful time with our loved ones in the next few days.
I want to thank all of you for your support this year. I have been so surprised by all of the visitors I have had to my blog that I am left speechless. You have truly given me a huge Christmas gift this season with your unwavering support. Thank you so much!
I look forward to having you visit me on my adventures next year. Again I wish you all the best for the holidays!
Last week I took a trip with my family into the heart of the city. And today I will share with you Christmas in the heart of the city. Ιt was decked out in all of it's Christmas splendor. There was much to see as we walked through the streets. Uncommon Christmas trees with bows.
And so we come to the middle of the month and Christmas is right around the corner but the wreaths are not up yet. And the mantel is still not ready. I believe my life was much simpler before blogging. But there is nothing more fun than a good challenge. By golly, I will finish the decorations by Christmas!! I will wrap up those wreaths!
Well we are in full Christmas Cheer now!! Last week I showed you my home tour, this week I'd like to take the opportunity to show you the inspiration for my Christmas tree in more detail.
I'm Mary and I live in beautiful Greece where I like to repurpose and upcycle anything that is old or looks like junk. Join me as we use our creativity to spark some life into old things. And do it frugally! You will also see lots of photography of my Greece.
