Today is a special day! I have a very good friend visiting me all the way from Indiana. It is non other than Nikki Frank Hamilton who blogs over at View From in Here. Nikki has her own shop, the Make Lemonade Shop, where she makes handmade pillows and she is here to share a tutorial with us on how to make a DIY Graphic Pillow - with or without a sewing machine. And she is giving us the graphic for free here. Nikki take it away!
I've always wanted to visit the Greece that Mary shares on her blog, haven't you? The color of the sky and ocean is bluer than I've ever seen; and having the option of dipping my toes in the water while listening to the waves, or taking a drive up into the mountains, is so cool!
Would you believe it is time for school to begin? Why in fact schools have already started in many parts of the world.
I did a casual survey on my Facebook page and found out that the traditional school opening of Labor Day and after, no longer seems to apply! In fact most of the readers who answered said school starts before Labor day in their regions. And let's not talk about South Africa, they start in January! That one totally threw me off.
Well I think those poor kids should have a few more weeks of relaxation to drive mom crazy just a bit more "wink"! But when they do finally go back to school, why not give them a gift to celebrate. But not any gift! Here are my 16 fun and easy Back to School DIY gift ideas.
This is a special post. It comes from the heart. It is all about finding trash and making the best of it. It is also KariAnne's story. Yes, the KariAnne of Thistlewood Farms that inspired me to paint my happy chairs! It is all about a nautical sign that is So Close To Amazing!
And now you are wondering, what the heck am I talking about? What is this so close to amazing?
It is a moment! A feeling you get...
When you get this close and then ... you just don't make it to the finish line.
You get this close... and the meal still doesn't turn out the way it's meant to.
When you get this close ... and the diy project does not live up to your vision.
With mother's day right around the corner I am scheming to get my kids to do right by me this year. I certainly cannot make a gift for myself! But I can ask my talented friends to share their amazing DIY gift ideas for Mother's Day with all of us.
Hopefully this will inspire some members of your family, and primarily mine, to get going and pamper mom on Mother's Day with a nice homemade gift or two. Because that's what this mom really wants!
The other day I was cleaning out some of my stash (no, not from the basement) and came across this. Now you may be wondering what "this" is. It's hard to explain but let me try.
When my girls were in elementary school they would have their school pictures taken. The school was very creative and one year decided that the photos should be plastered on this sailboat shaped piece of wood. Are ya following me so far? Years later my girls cringed at the sight of these photos. And so we peeled them off and were left with "this" wood piece.
Now you know me I love a good challenge and so I wanted to repurpose or reuse it And repurpose it I did, into an easy children's wall art. Today I'm going to show you how I did it. Nothing goes to waste in my house!
I'm Mary and I live in beautiful Greece where I like to repurpose and upcycle anything that is old or looks like junk. Join me as we use our creativity to spark some life into old things. And do it frugally! You will also see lots of photography of my Greece.
