The useless display rack –  Η άχρηστη ραφιέρα

Sharing is caring!

This week’s theme seems to be all about my daughter’s blue room makeover.  I have already shown you a few of the projects I’ve worked on in her room, the desk organizer, the corner hanger and the bookcase, which includes a box for ear plugs and more boxes.  Here is another thing I am using to update her room.  I believe in another lifetime it must have been a display shelf for a retail store. Try as I did, I could not for the life of me put it together. So I gave up!

Instead I used the back part..

A little white spray paint and it was ready to be decorated!

This is a copy of a painting that my daughter loves, Amedeo Modigliani’s ‘Jeanne Hebuterne’.  We chose to decorate the room with this painting as the inspiration. In other words, Black/White, blue and a touch of coral/orange.

I found this beautiful black and white chiffon fabric which used to be a blouse in another lifetime! I cut it into strips and attached it to the wire grid. And here is the end result.

I added all her buttons…

And other memorable trinkets.

By using this wire grid I was able to gather all of her lovelies in one area, without having to hammer 20 nails into the wall.

It is  light and airy, it is a repurpose, we can add onto it in the future, but most of all she loves it!  A win-win situation here!!

Thanks so much Wendi! I know that link on my comments has a problem with the local network. I checked with the blog people and they said there is nothing to be done. So glad you made it over here!

What a clever repurpose Mary! This is a fun way to display some of your daughter favorite collectible. I love the fabric that you added around the edges of the wire frame. My oldest granddaughter would love something like this.

It was a super simple way to make a bulletin board as Florence calls it. And so much fun!

Mary, you should have a booth over there in Greece, but I guess they don't have antique malls like they do here. You have so many neat repurposes & recreations that would fit well in that situation. This is such a nice "bulletin board" for your daughter's room. So what are you going to do now with that rack?? Can't wait to see!

Florence if only they had antique malls, I'd be one happy girl! I also repurposed the rest into a hanging organizer. Here is the link. https://www.theboondocksblog.com/home/the-twine-lady-returns
