Wrapping up the Wreaths – Τυλίγοντας τα Στεφάνια

Sharing is caring!

And so we come to the middle of the month and Christmas is right around the corner but the wreaths are not up yet.  And the mantel is still not ready.  I believe my life was much simpler before blogging. But there is nothing more fun than a good challenge. By golly, I will finish the decorations by Christmas!!  I will wrap up those wreaths!

There is nothing like a deadline to get me moving in the right direction!  Now you’ve seen this before, I take a cardboard donut and add basic white linen to it.  After that I embellish!

I had this old green velvet dress and I chose to use strips of the velvet to cover some of the wreath.

And a strip of crocheted border …

I placed red ribbon on the other side.

And my beloved angel.

And because I am nothing if not ambitious, I decided to make a second wreath.

Again using fabric from old clothing, I was able to cut strips and wrap them around the cardboard.

I added a pin that I had… it looks like a Christmas tree.

And a flower!

Well that wraps it up for my wreaths!!  My cup runneth over!  And I still have time for more  projects till the big day!  Oh goody!!

We both love fabric! Your wreath is a great way to use loved fabric!

Yes, the angel was the perfect touch. She looks like a lovable grandma angel that just pulled a warm batch of cookies from the oven. It was a clever idea to use recycled clothes...now I have to decide which pieces of clothing I really want to keep (for future projects) or send off to the Goodwill store! The wreaths turned out great.

Krista, there are many pretty pieces of clothing that have holes or brns or stains that won't come out. These are the ones I use because I can't give them to the Goodwill store. Merry Christmas!

I love both of your wreaths, Mary; and I love how you incorporated just enough of leftover green velvet fabric into the first wreath. But I do have to agree with you that my life was a bit simpler before blogging that it is now, but I wouldn't trade it!

Carol, I have to agree with you 100%. I wouldn't trade it either. So much creativity and inspiration and so many wonderful people out there. Where was I hiding for so many years?

You are one busy crafter Mary. I love the idea of using old garments on wreaths - clever!

Mary you really have a talent for wrapping fabric around cardboard! I love it! I love how you made this out of pieces of fabric and cardboard and it's beautiful and so festive! I like that you used different types of fabric and the lace is just so vintage. The angel makes it even better! XO
