A little bit of paint goes a long way - Λίγο χρώμα κάνει αρκετά

As you may know, if you have been visiting my blog, I am a great fan of paint. I will paint almost anything (except for that orange)  with the hope that it will be improved.  So today I decided to share with you a lamp shade redo.

blue lampshade before, A littlebit of paint goes a long way - www.theboondocksblog.com
As you can see it was a lovely lamp.  But the blue lamp shade looked all washed out and got lost in the room.  Too bland for me.

I painted the shade an off white. And to add oomph I painted the borders black.  Now it looks much more regal to me.

Much classier and it looks so nice on top of the black dresser.

Even when lit at night it has a nice warm feel and look to it – almost as if it were a fabric shade.
That is my inspiration for today.  Hope you  like it.

Much better Mary! I’m like you re: painting everything. Mr. Frugalista says that if you stand still long enough at our house, you will be painted.

Mary, I agree that these little thing make such a difference! I painted a lampshade black, and poked thousands of holes in it with a needle to form an Eiffel Tower silhouette. It was a pain in more ways than one, but I love it still. Please come and share with us at Five Star Frugal again/ Love, Mimi xxx

Hello Mimi, it is always so nice to hear from you. Yes, when we pay attention to details, the room comes together. You should upload your Eiffel tower lampshade. I will see you this Friday of course, and throughout the week.

Hi Katrin, I just used regular craft paint in antique white. I think it was Art Deco. I think you can probably use the acrylic paint that is sold at Lidl too. I love that store because it has affordable craft supplies!

Mary, what a difference a bit of paint can make! I’ve never dared to paint a lampshade because I thought it would look odd when the light is on but seeing yours I realise I was totally wrong!
