That is my inspiration for today. Hope you like it.

Nothing works better than a fresh coat of paint! Great job, Mary!
Thanks Larissa, it was a no brainer.. somethng had to be done with that blue, otherwise I would have sent it to your house!
Very nice! I agree that it stands out a lot more with the new color.
Thanks Sharon, And the black border really helps.
Much better Mary! I’m like you re: painting everything. Mr. Frugalista says that if you stand still long enough at our house, you will be painted.
Just wait, I have sooo many things I want to repaint now, and especially since I discovered chalk paint!! I must be your twin.
Mary, I agree that these little thing make such a difference! I painted a lampshade black, and poked thousands of holes in it with a needle to form an Eiffel Tower silhouette. It was a pain in more ways than one, but I love it still. Please come and share with us at Five Star Frugal again/ Love, Mimi xxx

Hello Mimi, it is always so nice to hear from you. Yes, when we pay attention to details, the room comes together. You should upload your Eiffel tower lampshade. I will see you this Friday of course, and throughout the week.
Hi again Mary. I’m glad you shared this. It’s such an easy upcycle, and makes such a difference! Love, Mimi xxx
This looks so nice and cozy!!! I’ve never painted a lamp shade! What kind of paint do you use Mary?
Thanks!
Hi Katrin, I just used regular craft paint in antique white. I think it was Art Deco. I think you can probably use the acrylic paint that is sold at Lidl too. I love that store because it has affordable craft supplies!
I am inspired. I have a very similar lamp. Your results were very nice, I agree much more regal. Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday.
Thank you Shirley, more regal and there was a stain on the back of the lamp that is now gone. Thanks for stopping by.
It’s amazing how much little paint can transform things! Good job, Mary! Thank you for joining the Thursday Favorite Things!
Thanks Jas, it was an easy fix! Have a great weekend.
Hi Mary,
Your lampshade refashion is so nice and you did a great job changing it.
Thanks so much for joining and sharing your awesome project at Cooking and Crafting with J & J.
We hope to see you again.
Julie at Julie’s Lifestyle
Julie, thanks for your kind comments, you will definitely see me again.
Love this look. It makes the lamp shade look so much softer and warmer.. Great job !!!
Rebecca it was an eye sore before, an awful blue and it had stains. The simplist answer was paint. Thank you for stopping by.
I totally love the transformation!
Thanks for joining Cooking and Crafting with J & J!
Thank you Jess, it was pretty awful before.
I love it Mary – it almost looks like suede !
A lamp shade is probably the only thing in my house I haven’t tried yet to paint yet and I have one I should really try ( let the conversations begin LOL )
Great job!

How cute, what a great idea!
Thanks April. A very simple but effective upcycle. Thanks for dropping by.
I really like the paint you chose for your lamp shade Mary. It does look great on your dresser and much nicer than the blue of before!
Tara thanks, I am starting to believe we can use paint for anything! And the blue did have a stain that would not come off!
There you go again, thinking of brilliant DIYs that never occurred to me… it looks SO classy, and beautifully simple. Love it! 🙂
This was a simple one and I figured if I messed it up, no harm done. After al lI shopped it at home.
Mary, what a difference a bit of paint can make! I’ve never dared to paint a lampshade because I thought it would look odd when the light is on but seeing yours I realise I was totally wrong!
Pili, I had no problems with it at all. An easy fix that makes a world of difference.
