I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year!!
It is the time when we take stock of the past year, look back on what has been, what we could have done differently, and also what went well. It is also an opportunity to look ahead to 2018 and think about what we want for the near future.
As you all know I had a very eventful year, in fact it felt as if a tornado blew in and rearranged everything. But now I am settled and looking forward to many changes for 2018. There will be no more pomegranates. It is time for some new traditions!
There will also be some changes on the blog. ;)
I just wanted to pop in for a moment and wish everyone a very Merry and most Blessed Christmas. And very Happy Holidays!
Too often we forget about the true meaning of Christmas and get all caught up in the other aspects of the holidays. And it is always a good idea to try and slow down a bit and savor the moment. That is what I am planning to do with my family and I hope you are too. New home and new traditions!
Again, I thank you all for your support throughout the year! Enjoy this most special of days.
I have been itching to write this post for about a month now. I wanted to let you all know about my decision to move to the US and why it's so fantastic to be fifty and over. But before I get to it let me invite you all to visit with my Fantastic Fifty lady friends who are also participating in this fantastic blog hop. Their links are on the bottom of this post.
We could say that this is a continuation of my blogging journey. Today I am going to talk to you about my recent move, my trip with a one way ticket.
This is a special post. It comes from the heart. It is all about finding trash and making the best of it. It is also KariAnne's story. Yes, the KariAnne of Thistlewood Farms that inspired me to paint my happy chairs! It is all about a nautical sign that is So Close To Amazing!
And now you are wondering, what the heck am I talking about? What is this so close to amazing?
It is a moment! A feeling you get...
When you get this close and then ... you just don't make it to the finish line.
You get this close... and the meal still doesn't turn out the way it's meant to.
When you get this close ... and the diy project does not live up to your vision.
A while back I shared some pretty pictures with you all of my son's bookcase transformation which you can see here. And many of you were wondering where all the books had gone. They are all safe and sound, thank you! But this got me to thinking. Many times we show you the pretty pictures but I bet you have no idea what goes on behind the scenes.
Well, today I am taking you to a messy, cluttered place. My home. Or should I say a blogger's home because it never looked like this in my pre-blogging days. Horrors!! What did I get myself into? How does my family put up with me? Join me as well take a look behind the scenes peek at the boondocks blog.
I am joined in this wacky adventure by some friends who are also super brave and will show you their "Behind the Scenes" reality. So don't go anywhere, you'll be able to see my blogging friends posts on the bottom of this post.
I'm Mary and I recently moved to New York from beautiful Greece. I like to re-purpose and up-cycle anything that is old or looks like junk. Join me as we use our creativity to spark some life into old things. And do it frugally! You will also see lots of photography of my Greece and New York.
