In preparation for the holidays I bought a new rug for the living room. It was blue, it matched my cloudy wall. I was in love. Some of the room, the cabinet and the bookcases, looked great with the new rug. Some other things, not so much. Did that stop me from plowing ahead? Of course not. I was determined to make the room look presentable for the holidays, as best I could.
Like I said, some of the furniture looked out of place. Now I am on a budget so buying a new coffee table was not in the foreseeable future. But I figured I could always paint that table that looked oh so dark and gloomy and make it fit in just a bit better. This is how I went about reinventing my old coffee table with paint to fit in with the rest of the room.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you have all had a wonderful time during the holidays. I really enjoyed myself and relaxed a bit. I'm now ready to share with you my most popular DIY posts for 2018. Let me know which were your favorites.
Now that the Christmas tree is decorated, it's time to take care of all the other areas of the house. I like to decorate the bookcases that are in the living room. Adding lights makes them super festive and creates the best nighttime mood.
But I don't decorate with just anything. I am going to show you how to reuse old decor to make bright Christmas vignettes. Because pretty can be made from just about anything. Even if you don't know where it came from!
It is that time of the month again when I join my friends and we bring to you our projects from all over the world. I am talking about the International Bloggers Club.
Two months ago we started a new theme that involves using the Anniversary years as our guideline. We featured projects with paper and projects with cotton. However this month we are going to sidestep and get in the spirit of the season. Yes, we are talking about Christmas! I thought I would go all out and share my Christmas tree for this year. Because for me, it's all about the sparkle!
Make sure to scroll all the way down to the bottom of this post to see what my friends have made this month.
The day has finally arrived when I am ready to show you the bedroom reveal. You know the one I started almost six months ago?? I must be a world class procrastinator!
I did a lot of work in this room but mostly I did a lot of thinking. What are the right colors within my limitations? How can I up-cycle the items I already have? But mostly I hung out with this little guy!
And I had a lot of help from you, my readers to create a calm look for a bedroom using vintage, thrifted and Ikea items.
I'm Mary and I recently moved to New York from beautiful Greece. I like to re-purpose and up-cycle anything that is old or looks like junk. Join me as we use our creativity to spark some life into old things. And do it frugally! You will also see lots of photography of my Greece and New York.
