It is finally starting to feel like fall around here and I think just in time since the first day of fall was this past Saturday. Have I ever told you how much I love fall?
And to celebrate this most special day of all (for me anyway) I chose to make a simple fall wreath. So today I'm sharing how you can make a simple dollar store fall wreath.
With the summer heat it has been hard for me to get motivated to do much of anything. Have you all heard about the legendary New York humidity? As many of you know, I am supposed to be working on making the bedroom look presentable, I even made a mood board. But so far things have been slow. It takes a lot to get me to paint these days with Tatou, our puppy, running around.
One thing I did manage to tackle has been the bed. This is how it looked before but I knew it needed a lot of help to look presentable. Today I am going to show you how to make an easy no-sew bed skirt with drop cloth. Along with some other tricks!
I have been back in the USA for almost a year and yet I have not done a patriotic project. Oh I have a flag or two in the house. But with the Fourth of July coming up I felt it was time to create something a little special.
Today I am sharing with you how to make easy patriotic art with fabric scraps. Because the flag looks great outside, but we shouldn't neglect the interior of our homes.
Last week I shared the reveal of my girls' room with you. But I have a confession, even when a room is finished, there is always room for improvement. In this case we needed a chair for the computer desk, because that ottoman that my girl was using was just not cutting it. I needed to find a better solution pronto- that poor ottoman was getting squashed.
After a quick trip to the basement I found not one but four of these chairs. Well I only needed one, but thought I should redo two of them. Because you never know... And so I ended up getting two unique makeovers from one type of chair.
It is my favorite time of the month again. Yes it is the International Bloggers Club Challenge. We are a group of friends from all over the world who get together every month to share our projects and discuss how things are done in our countries. Last time we shared projects that were new for us, I painted an abstract art piece, and the month before it was Valentine's Day Projects.
This month we have decided to make projects using fabric. I needed new curtains for my room and so that is my chosen project for this month. But I didn't go to the stores to buy fabric instead I am going to share how to make pretty, pleated curtains with drop cloth.
To see what my friends have made this month scroll down to the bottom of this post.
I'm Mary and I recently moved to New York from beautiful Greece. I like to re-purpose and up-cycle anything that is old or looks like junk. Join me as we use our creativity to spark some life into old things. And do it frugally! You will also see lots of photography of my Greece and New York.
