Spring is such a wonderful time of the year. The flowers are a bloomin, the birds are chirping and the stores are all full of lots of fun items that we can craft with. I spotted these cute wooden gift bags at Michael's the other day and was immediately smitten!
Spring is also the time for gift giving to friends.
And while we are on the subject of gifts, Mother's Day is almost here.
Today I'm sharing my idea for gift giving with pretty wooden gift bags.
It is the tenth of the month and that means it's time for me to join my friends on Ten on the Tenth. We all have the holidays on our minds and choosing gifts is never easy. This month I chose to concentrate on handmade gift ideas because knowing there is an artist on the other end of a gift makes it so much more special! I came up with a list of ten amazing hand-made gifts - for $10 and under. I think some of these would be perfect as stocking stuffers.
Last time around we shared fall ideas. And the month before it was acts of kindness and I shared the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden. Make sure to scroll all the way down so you can see what my friends are up to this month.
Father's Day is this coming Sunday! Have you taken care of your dad? Yes, your dad! I'm speaking mostly to the ladies of my age who have a senior citizen dad who is retired.
We always see lots of gift ideas for dads of the younger set but why not one for our own dads? My dad is 88 and he doesn't want an i-pad! Today I am sharing 17 practical gift ideas for the retired dad, because we should remember them and their unique tastes and needs.
It is the tenth of the month and that means it's time for me to join my friends on Ten on the Tenth for another project. This time we have gotten together to share fashion and beauty ideas that cost less then ten dollars. Last month we shared container gardening ideas.
Now I'm no Fashion Diva, in fact the opposite is true. But I do know that being organized is important for all the Divas out there who need to find their jewelry pronto! Because you're not gonna get me to give you fashion advice!
But I will say this, I think it would make a fine Mother's Day gift! It is so easy to make this frame jewelry organizer.
Do you ever mean to do a project but for some reason or other it just seems to end up in the back of the drawer? Well I had that problem with a small wood box. I think it is called a treasure box. That poor box got worked on in stages over a period of over three years. Now that I wrote that, it just sounds pathetic. But I finally finished it and am ready to share.
But not here. I am going for a visit to my good friend Deborah of Salvage Sister and Mister. Her blog is also all about ... you guessed it, repurposing and upcycling. She is part of a team and works with her husband Tom to come up with some incredible DIY projects. So join me over on her blog as we examine the little red box that finally got done.
I'm Mary and I recently moved to New York from beautiful Greece. I like to re-purpose and up-cycle anything that is old or looks like junk. Join me as we use our creativity to spark some life into old things. And do it frugally! You will also see lots of photography of my Greece and New York.
