It is the tenth of the month and that means it's time for me to join my friends on Ten on the Tenth for another project. This time we have gotten together to share fashion and beauty ideas that cost less then ten dollars. Last month we shared container gardening ideas.
Now I'm no Fashion Diva, in fact the opposite is true. But I do know that being organized is important for all the Divas out there who need to find their jewelry pronto! Because you're not gonna get me to give you fashion advice!
But I will say this, I think it would make a fine Mother's Day gift! It is so easy to make this frame jewelry organizer.
Do you ever mean to do a project but for some reason or other it just seems to end up in the back of the drawer? Well I had that problem with a small wood box. I think it is called a treasure box. That poor box got worked on in stages over a period of over three years. Now that I wrote that, it just sounds pathetic. But I finally finished it and am ready to share.
But not here. I am going for a visit to my good friend Deborah of Salvage Sister and Mister. Her blog is also all about ... you guessed it, repurposing and upcycling. She is part of a team and works with her husband Tom to come up with some incredible DIY projects. So join me over on her blog as we examine the little red box that finally got done.
It's September and that means it's my turn to contribute a gift to the Handmade Christmas Gift blog hop. For those of you who are new here, I have gotten together with some blogger friends and we are making one gift per month (or at least we are trying). In this way, we will have 12 handmade gifts by the time December rolls around. In previous months I have made a pillow and a wooden heart.
As I mentioned, this month I get to make a gift and my blogger friends, and of course you all, are invited to copy it or make a variation.
What am I making? Well, because I've been working so hard all year I am going to make a gift for myself. After all a happy blogger is a productive blogger! I'm making a jewelry organizer for earrings.
Mother's Day is right around the corner and we all know that this is the most important day of the year! "wink". Everyone is out there buying expensive flowers and candy for their moms. But is that what moms really want for Mother's Day? I have a different idea. I think it should be a day where we show our appreciation for everything our mother has done not by spending money but by doing something special. Maybe we can cook for her or serve her breakfast in bed. (Kids are you reading this?)
Aside from these gestures, there are so many easy, last minute gifts that you can make yourselves if you have a few basic things at home. Today I'm going to show you some last minute DIY Mother's Day gifts.
We are in the midst of Christmas Decorating in my house. The tree is up, the boxes are everywhere and there is general chaos in the house. But we're very happy! I've enlisted my girls and their friend to help me with the decorations. Because otherwise, it will be New Years before I'm finished. Today I'm going to share my homemade ornaments that I made last year for the first time.
