Fun and Easy Halloween Vignette - Int'l Bloggers Club Challenge

10/17/2016

Well hello there.  It is a bit early for our Int'l Bloggers Club Challenge but that's okay.   Instead of waiting till the end of the month we have moved up our monthly challenge so that you can also benefit from out Halloween projects for the month of October.

I am teaming up with my International friends to bring you Halloween crafts this month.  You can see everyone's crafts on the bottom of the post.  In the past, we have done Fall Crafts and Back to School crafts.

But this month I'm throwing a Halloween party for the kids!  Now tell me is that not the perfect excuse to go all out for Halloween crafts and Fun and Easy Halloween Vignettes?

But first, I'd like to talk a little bit about  Halloween in Greece....

...
...

It is non-existent.

In Greece, as in other European countries we celebrate the Carnival.  It takes place right before Lent which would be between January and March.  If you'd like to learn more about the Carnival in Greece you can go over to a guest post I did at my friend Sue's blog, Sizzling toward Sixty.

This year, I am bucking the trend and throwing a party for my daughter, the one of You Tube fame who absolutely loves Halloween.  A friend of hers came over and they got down to business.  We also want to take this opportunity to thank the very talented Nadia for working on the crafts with us.  Below is a shameful picture of the two girls in the middle of a giant mess... yes folks, that is what a blogger's house looks like most days.

Mary this is a funny story, no wonder you had a blast with the girls!! It is a lovely vignette, the kind that makes you think why I didn't thought about it before.
Mrs Mummy is cute, I need some advice for myself

What a fun, spooky display! I never knew that Halloween was non-existent in Greece. As always, I love reading/learning something new from your posts. And you always have a fun and clever way of 'weaving a good tale' in there, too!

Jelica maybe I can start a new trend here. Since we are having a party it will give the kids a chance to dress up and have fun where otherwise they would have to wait until the Carnival. Also now they get to be spooky, it's a different type of dress up.

Great story, Mary, so funny! :)
My favorites are wallnut eyes, I have never seen ones like that!
We also celebrate Karnival instead of Halloween, but lately Halloween is getting popular here, as well. I expecially like having a chance to dress up TWICE in one year :)

They were easy to make Ana, just paint them white with acrylic paint and then paint the colors using acrylic also.

Thanks for giving me a chuckle first thing in the morning.

Jeannee the pumpkins are painted to look white. We have a hard time finding pumpkins here. But we painted them white with acrylic paint to look like ghosts. I know you've got plenty of pumpkins there so go ahead and paint away. I also chose to do this instead of carving because they last longer.

There is still no Halloween in Greece? I was really surprised a few years ago when I realized that Halloween has turned into quite a big holiday in Germany with decorations, trick or treating, etc.
