There once was a wreath that was bare and cold. After all it was made out of cardboard. It was Fall so it looked in the closet and found some appropriate wear. A lovely white, wool strip of fabric.
Since the weather was crisp, it felt it needed something more to keep warm. So it found some lovely fabric with earthy brown, orange and green tones.
It was warm enough, but now the wreath wanted a little bit of flair. It felt lopsided and needed balance.
It added a little lace for beauty and some ribbons in beige and olive, the colors of nature.
Look at this fabric. Let's add that too.
Oh, it makes a pretty flower.
And some texture with this straw.
But wait!! Halloween is coming. Let's add a mouse to shake things up.
And a skeleton peεking out.
And the wreath is ready!

I think your wreath is adorable. You have the knack for combining textures and colors. The fabric flowers really made it but my favorite is the mouse. I have to ask, is that a cat toy?

Thanks Debra. It is a toy that my girls picked up at Ikea a few years back. Not a cat toy as it was found in the children's section.

Hahaha, Mary you're awesome! It's a little bit of all, I love how all the pieces of fabric go well together, but are different, and how you divided the sides and styles...And, I'm glad the little wreath is warm now and pretty too!

Keri you are so funny. I hate those mice too, but what else can I do I had a skeleton head and it was way to heavy to stay up on the wreath. At least the mouse is light. But not cute!!

That's right Marie, a split personality. I was actually thinking of callig it the Bi-polar wreath, but it didn't sound very poetic.

Yes, Kathy that little rodent seems to be growing on me. I had a skull I wanted to put on the wreath originally but it was made of clay and was way to heavy. But now it seems the little mouse turned out to be the best solution. Thanks for visiting.

Thanks Zefi.. I blog in 2 languages because I have viewers who don't speak English. I don't like google translate. It is not natural speach and I believe if someone is going to take the time to visit my blog, then I owe them the courtesy of trying to communicate with them the best I can. It takes longer but we should not forget why we blog.. In my case it makes me happy when I know that people have seen and liked my work. Hopping on over to your blog too. Thanks for visiting.
