Respect - The Boondocks Blog

It seems that Autumn is a very bountiful season for me. The very gracious and talented Jas of All that’s Jas, has honored me with a Respect Award.

You are probably scratching your heads wondering what this is, but before we get to that a little about Jas. Jas is an extraordinarily talented photographer, writer and cook. In other words a triple threat. She moved to the United States after being exiled in Germany from her homeland, war torn Bosnia. I was incredιbly moved by her story. To be displaced from your homeland because of war is something most of us have never known, nor should we ever have to live through. Jas has started a new life in the States with her family and has flourished. But I’ve said enough and she is the writer, so hop on over to All that’s Jas, and read her story, admire her incredible photographs and run to get cooking utensils.

Back to our award. This award was created by the artist Robert Goldstein. We’ll let him explain it..

The “Respect” Award is my personal award for fellow bloggers who consistently reach out to other bloggers, offer support, are kind, struggle to understand differences in people, and who treat themselves and other people with kindness and respect.
You don’t have to do anything for this award.
You can choose to copy the Award Picture and give the award to the people who have earned your respect or you can do nothing.
This is my way of saying thank you. You have earned my respect.

So Jas thinks I’m doing something right. I’ve just been happy to meet so many exciting and talented people who share my interests. I get carried away and go all over the place talking to everyone. That’s what I’m doing. That’s how I describe it. When I see a good project, I say so. Simple as that. When I read a well written post, I say so. And when I see a gorgeous photo, I swoon… emm, I compliment. Whatever I do, it comes from the heart. Otherwise, there is no reason to be doing it.

I have been thinking for days about this award. There are many bloggers that I admire, because of their talent, their kindness and their originality. But this award is for someone who goes out of their way to “regularly visit, comment and pour their love.” There are quite a few that I can think of who do this and do it well. I have chosen three bloggers who I feel set an example for the rest of us.

My Nominations

I want to show my respect to Nikki of View From In Here for her perseverance in commenting on all those blogs every week, for her graciousness and for her kind words. Always her kind words. And her gentle nudging to help us all along, teaching us how to be better bloggers. Nikki is our blog guru and I thank her from the bottom of my heart.
Go and visit Nikki’s blog. She is a very talented cook and an old soul who is full of wisdom.

I want to show my respect to Christina of Art Decoration & Crafting for her encouraging words and her amazing sense of style. She can whip up the most beautiful DIY’s with practically nothing. I’m taking notes from her beautifully designed blog and her creations.

I also want to show my respect to Doreen of House Honeys for her gracious comments and her consistency. Doreen is the perfect example of what a blog should be like. With a great eye for design and photography, lots of wisdom, a bit of spice and a great sense of humor.

I want to thank Nikki, Christina and Doreen for their timely and relevant comments and their ever encouraging words. Also, my thanks to Jas for the nomination of such a special award. Finally, my thanks to all of you for visiting and for putting up with me.

Συγχαρητηρια! Το αξίζεις το βραβείο και με το παραπάνω, πιστεύω πως είσαι παράδειγμα για τους άλλους bloggers και εννοώ τον τρόπο που επικοινωνείς, επισκέπτεσαι πάντα και αφήνεις ενα καλό σχόλιο γιατι αναγνωρίζεις τον κόπο του άλλου! Δεν είχα την τυχη να γνωρίζω τους άλλους δυο μπλογκερς (θα τους επισκεφτω όμως σιγουρα) αλλα για τη Χριστίνα έχω να πω πως οπωσδήποτε 100% το αξίζει και εκείνη!!!

Ντίνα, ευχαριστω πολυ. Προσπαθώ πάντα να είμαι ειλικρινείς σε ότι κάνω, και όντως ξέρω πόσο δουλεια ειναι αυτό το πάθος μας. Γιαυτό και δείχνω σεβασμό στους άλλους. Και οι άλλες κυρίες ειναι εξαιρετικες, και μου δινουν μαθήματα. Πάντα χαίρομαι όταν εσύ με επισκέπτεσαι.
