I folded the stems back and secured them with some wire.
Δίπλωσα τα κοτσάνια πίσω και να έπιασα με σύρμα.
Αλλά δεν μου άρεσαν τα λευκά άνθη. Πάρα πολύ λευκά, πολύ ήπια. Τα έβγαλα και ….
…I painted them. Yes, easy as that. I used an acrylic paint and on some just painted the tips
…τα έβαψα. Ναι, τόσο εύκολο. Χρησιμοποίησα ένα ακρυλικό χρώμα και σε μερικά απλά ζωγράφισα τις άκρες.
Νομίζω ότι λίγο χρώμα κάνει μια τεράστια διαφορά. Το στεφάνι είναι ισορροπημένο τώρα. Δεν υπάρχει πλέον το μονόπλευρο στεφάνι για μένα. Αν θέλετε να δείτε όλα τα στεφάνια μου πάτε εδώ. Έχετε κάνει καλοκαιρινό στεφάνι για το σπίτι σας; Τι χρησιμοποιείτε για να το φτιάξετε;

I don’t think your pretty summer wreath is lopsided at all! I love the pretty fabrics you used, they add lots of texture..and your flowers are the perfect touch! So pretty!
Thanks so much Wendi. I was actually thinking that I wouldn’t post it because it didn’t look rustic enough. I’m glad I reconsidered.
So pretty and creative!
Thank you Amy. It is very colorful for the colorful summers I have.
so cute Mary! you are so creative! Love all the layers and textures! Perfect to hand on the door any time of year!
Thank you Millie, I almost didn’t upload this one, I thought it looked too plastic.. haha!
It looks fantastic, Mary! All the color and fun it gives…yay!
Thanks Larissa. We need lots of color for the summertime.
I loved the use of fabric scraps! They give color and texture with minimum effort! Well done!
If there is one thing I have, it’s a ton of fabric scraps. I love to play with them and come up with unusual combinations.
Mary, I love this wreath! The beautiful colors are so cheerful. And aren’t you so creative to paint the tips of the flowers; I like the new look you gave them. You made a lovely summer wreath!
The crowning touch was the painted tips, otherwise it would have looked too fake for me.
Lovely Lovely Lovely! I absolutely love that you painted the white flowers Mary, it does make them stand out even more and is just beautiful! A beautiful summer wreath!
Like we always say paint changes everything. Really those white flowers needed more depth and I didn’t realize it till I looked at the photos I took and saw these flat things. Thanks Katrin.
Mary that is genius & so lovely. The white flowers look like peonies now. That is something I would never thought of doing. I made a yarn wreath once, but ended up throwing it away because it looked horrible. I love yours though. So colorful and sweet for summer! Pinned.
Thank you Florence. I like to experiment with whatever I happen to find in my stash. Those fabric scraps are from old clothes that I had cut up.
So…you need a new moniker…trying to figure a good one out but it must tie in your wreath making skill. ‘Mary of the Wreaths’? ‘Boondock Wreath Company’? Hmmm…let me think…It’ll come to me.
But, in any event, you have this wreath making down and really come up with some lovely designs. This one, with its pink flowers, is perfect for spring/summer. And you were brilliant to touch those white flowers up with a little paint. You know me…there are very few things that can’t be improved upon with a little paint!
Well done Mary.
Hugs, lynn
Hahaha… Lynn I thought I was the twine lady, Do I get a new one now? Ok you’ll tell me which one you decide on. Mary of the Wreaths sounds downright regal. 😉
And we always love our paint stash!
I love how you painted the flowers. They match the flowered material so nicely. And I also like how you wrapped the yarn around the red fabric to add additional color and texture. It is a pretty wreath to usher summer in.
Thank you Debra, it was a case of everything coming together.
I liked it before but after you painted the flowers, it really popped! I didn’t realize you could paint faux flowers. It turned out really nice.
It really made all the difference. WIthout the paint the flowers were kind of bland.
Love your wreath, Mary! Such a great idea to use cardboard for the wreath form. It looks so lovely and perfect for summer!
You know me Celeste always looking out for the frugal way to do things.
I can’t believe the difference a little bit of paint makes! Lovely!
That’s my motto Cathy, the power of paint.
Mary,
Your wreath is beautiful! Love how you used old fabric that you had and ribbons and yarn to add interest, not to mention the brilliant idea to paint the tips of your flowers! Love it! Thanks so much for linking up with us at Brag About It! Pinned and tweeted to share 🙂
Thankyou so much Laurie. And here I was thinking it was a dud!
Wow! What a gorgeous wreath! Pinned!
Brenda
Thank you Brenda, and thanks for the feature.
Your wreath is gorgeous. I love the different textures and patterns wrapped around the wreath form. And pure genius painting the flowers to give them more pop.
Thank you Darlene for your sweet comment. I have it hung in the hallway and those flowers take up so much space…lol
Wow. The paint makes all the difference!! 🙂
It really does Kim, and sometimes it’s the little things that matter.
Pretty and light, just right for June.
Amalia
xo
Thank you Amalia, I have to agree with you.
Very pretty Mary! Love the colors of your wreath, bright and cheery summer colors. Great way to recycle old clothes and fabric scraps, and very clever way to add more color to the white flowers, I will have to remember that.
Linda the paint was actually an afterthought. I thought I was finished till I looked at it and didn’t like all that white.
Love the way you combine the fabric, its very unique, Never seen a wreath like this, which I love something different. Very pretty
Maria
Maria, I make a wreath for each season and I try to change it up a bit so I can have some variety. Thanks for stopping by.
I love ALL your wreaths, Mary, lopsided or not! I really love the colors and I love that pink and green print on your wreath.
Thanks so much Carol. I’ll keep em coming!
What a lovely weather. So spring like.
Thanks for sharing at Over The Moon,
Bev
Thank you for the sweet comment Bev.
I love the colors of the wreath and adding the touch of paint to white flowers was genius. Using a cardboard base is great – inexpensive and totally doable.
Thank you Carol, and it is pretty sturdy too.
Oh, Mary, this is bee-u-ti-ful! I can’t believe that you painted the flowers…. Well, I can because I’ve seen your other creations and know that you really are this creative. I am totally digging the yarn and ribbon touches, too! Thank you so much for sharing with #ShareTheJoyLinky!
Thank you so much Regina . Sometimes its fun to do the unexpected.
Beautiful wreath, Mary!

Thank you so much Andrea. I almost threw it out at one point it was getting to me but then I had a vision and pulled it through. It’s like when you are trying to put an outfit together.
That’s just gorgeous! I love the colors you chose. 🙂
Stacey they were fabric scraps I had lying around and they just came together.
You are all set for summer with your beautiful wreathe!
THAnk you for being at Thoughts of Home!
Yes I am but knowing me I’ll get bored with it and make another one.
Mary you are the wreath queen!! That’s another pretty wreath using fabric scraps and the colors you chose are great for summer. I found a big bag full of scrap fabric and I think I could do something similar for my terrace, thanks for the inspiration!
I look forward to seeing your fabirc scrap creation Pili. It really is the simple thngs that make such a big impact sometimes.
Very cute! Love that you put the flowers at the top. I think we tend to think flowers must go towards the bottom but yours catches the eye! Visiting from Morning Cup of Joe.
Victoria its fun to break the rules sometimes.
That’s so pretty! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a lopsided wreath 🙂
Neither have I Maisy but it’s fun to experiment.
Mary – this is another beautiful Wreath of yours! It’s so pretty and just perfect for the Summer months! Pinning!
Thank you Ilka, Maybe next month I’ll make another one with a beachy theme. Summertime is so versatile.
What a beautiful brights and cheerful wreath! I love the colours you used Mary! I don’t think it looks lopsided at all! I love how you also painted the tips of the flowers, so clever 🙂
Thank you Sam. I’m also happy that it turned out so well because it could have easily looked like chaos.
Beautiful summer wreath – Thanks for sharing on Pleasure of the Northwest’s DIY link up!
It is my pleasure Helen.
Mary, you never cease to amaze me. Whoever would have thought that this wreath could come out of the parts and pieces you put together. You have the touch. I love the depth of the wreath that the colors and the patterns bring out, as well as the yarn. I really loved it when you added the flowers, but it became absolutely stunning when you tipped those flowers with paint. I never would have thought of that. I really love this and would proudly display this in my home.
I also like layering in wreaths. And the fact that I get to use up some of my scrap fabric makes it all the better. The paint was an afterthought at the end. In fact I had written the post and then went back and added the painted flowers. lol
How clever of you to paint the edges of the flowers – beautiful wreath!

Hi Mary, it seems like only two minutes ago since I was reading about your spring wreath! Where does the time go?
The paint you added to the tips of the flowers make all the difference and tie them in with the other colours on your wreath…. I have to ask; are you ever stuck for an idea? I go blank just trying to think of something!
xx
I churn them out Debbie, gotta have one for each occassion…lol. As for ideas, I am never stuck ( knock on wood) because I am looking at ideas all day on blogs. So it helps to expand my mind and creativity.
I always love popping over to your blog for new beautiful finds. Love this summer wreath and it has inspired me to get started on mine. I’m really running behind. Great idea using fabric scraps, never thought about that before. It really looks lovely!
Thank you Mistie. I always like to challenge myself and use what I have in front of me and see if I can come up with something decent. Good luck with your wreath and have fun.
Unfortunately I am not really able to hang a wreath on my door though I do think this is lovely.
Thank you Elise. I don’t hang them on my door either I hang them in the stairwell of our building.
So pretty, and I love how you show how we don’t need to buy expensive wreath bases. Just a bit of card will do. 🙂
Yes Julie and I use the same cardboard over and over so it is very frugal.
What a nice idea and so pretty. Pinning!
Thanks so much Stephanie!
This is really bright cheerful and pretty. Painting the blossoms is a wonderful idea. It makes so much difference. Love your post.
Just a little paint goes a long way! Thanks Leanna.
So so pretty
Thanks you Deborah, a few scraps here and there make a wreath.
Your wreathes are always so pretty Mary love the colours of this one
