What a great idea, Mary! I never would have thought of a slipcover. Love that floor cushion too. We all sit on the floor way more than on the furniture and pillows, cushions, bean bags are our friends! 🙂
Laura thanks for stopping by. I always try to use what I have at home and this fabric was perfect for the project.
Mary that is a clever idea! Now you have two beautiful seats on her room, and you have got rid off some fabric… extra room for another project!
Pili, no more Tweety!! And the pillow used to be a baby blanket (shhh, we won’t tell).
Great idea, very ingenious re-design! Well done. xx
Hi Camille, I just try to reuse what I have at home and come up with solutions.
Mary this is great! You have so good ideas to upcycle anything!!
I love the fabric you used on both pieces.
Hugs and hugs,
Anne.
Hi Anne, so glad to hear from you. I try to upcycle anything and everything. The most important thing is that my daughter is happy with her room.
Love that fabric!! You made an awesome pillow and stool set!!
Thanks Keri, I had it sitting around for quite a while and figured I should use it… you won’t believe how much fabric I have… I need more fabric projects!
Thanks for joining me at Home Sweet Home Mary! I have been doing the same with my son. We are in transition here. It is so fun to see how you covered up Tweety. Good makeover!
Sherry
Sharon it is so much fun transitioning the kids rooms when they start to mature. Thanks for visiting.
It turned out beautiful! I love what you did with it! I kinda feel sad about tweety thought haha
Ntina, don’t you worry about Tweety he is nice and snuggly warm! Thanks for stopping by!
Looks great! My daughter just got rid of all her pink too! She went with grey with a little bit of turquoise. Very grown up!
Pamela, when they reach that age they want a more sophisticated look and pink just does not cut it. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Mary! I love the idea! My girls would like this, even though they are still in the pink phase ” big time” …. but it goes with all colours, that’s what I love about gray too. And the idea is just wonderfull!!!
Katrin, yes it is very practical and warmer than using contact paper (which I had considered at one point). Enjoy the pink while it lasts, because they may go to the black phase later…lol So glad you hopped on over!
You’d never know Tweety is hiding beneath the new cover. It looks great! Pinned and Tweeted.
Tweety is fine in there, thank you! Had to find an easy way to banish the pink. Beverly thanks for stopping by.
That looks wonderful. Such a creative idea. Thank you for linking up at #HomeMattersParty and we hope to see you again soon!
Thanks Shann. I look forward tot visiting again soon as well.
Great job!!
Here from 2UsesTuesday.
Thank you Melinda. I just popped over to your blog … you are so funny. Thanks, I’ll have to visit you for my daily chuckles.
Mary you’re so creative! I love what you did here and you’re also so funny. No it doe not look like Dr. Seuss made it …it looks like an incredibly talented Mom did!
Aww thank you Leslie. So I guess I have made Dr. Suess proud! Thanks for your sweet comments!
Such a cute and clever idea! Thanks for sharing at the Submarine Sunday Link Party!!
Thanks T’onna, I’m almost done… hiding everything, organizing. See you at the party!!
I love what a big change a bit of fabric and yarn make to this stool! It went from a child’s piece to one that will transition into adulthood. I love the fabric, it pulls in so many colors while staying a neutral. Great job!
Thanks again Nikki. That is exactly what I’m aiming for..A transition to adulthood.
I really like the flannel fabric you chose to cover the tweety trash can and pillow Mary. What a transformation! Thanks so much for sharing your projects at Dream. Create. Inspire. Link. I hope you had a great weekend and take care, Tara
Thanks Tara, I was going for something neutral, and if I want to upscale it even more, I can remove the cords and change the fabric on the pillow. Thanks for dropping by,
