Έφτασε ο καιρός να κανουμε κι άλλο ένα δώρο για τα Χριστούγεννα! Ναι, Χριστούγεννα 2016! Δώδεκα μπλογκερ φίλες αποφάσισαν να κάνουν ένα δώρο ανά μήνα και ώσπου να φτάσει ο Δεκέμβριος θα έχουμε ετοιμάσει 12 δώρα. Όχι την τελευταία στιγμή με βιασύνη, η να παλεύουμε με τα πλήθη στα καταστήματα. Για πείτε μου, δεν ακούγεται σαν μια υπέροχη ιδέα;
Και για να τελειώσω, πρόσθεσα μια τελευταία καρδιά σε ένα ωραίο ουδέτερο τόνο. Εχουμε συνολικά τέσσερις καρδιές, με ακολουθείτε;

sometimes you just need more heart! ๐ This heart is beautiful Mary! Love it ๐
Thanks so much Millie. My hubs actually came up with that but I’m not supposed to tell. ๐
A very pretty heart within a heart within a heart…Mary. You are such a diligent worker, so organized and prepared for gift giving next Christmas! Inspiration can come from many places, indeed, the best being from our own homes or outdoors, in nature, my personal favourite.
Happy Christmas crafting!
Poppy
Poppy, you’ve gotta admit, we are crazy but in a good way! I’m really enjoying all this gift crafting. Hope you are well over the pond.
What a great idea to get those Christmas gifts early! Love it and I love the heart you made too! You worked your magic once again! Have a great week Mary!
The only problem Ntina is that they are turning out so well I may want to keep them all for myself! Have a wonderful week!
I always love reading through your posts Mary! Lol, this one is another fun project of yours! How funny that you had to hide the first heart and how cool does it look now! I love the bright red wooden heart shape and the little ones on top of each other give it that special touch! and bookpages are so cool right now! Also, I like that this gift would be something to go past the holidays all the way into spring next year! Great idea!
Katrin, I have to be careful where I tear pages from. I really had not noticed it was a war book. Can you imagine giving this as a gift to your sweetheart and then he reads it and looks at you like ???
I think it’s hilarious that the page you cut out depicted a battle scene! But, your solution of layering the hearts was perfect…think you should’ve done it regardless of what the page depicted. And look at you getting all ready for Christmas! I”m still trying to get ready for Valentine’s day…say what? Valentine’s day has passed?
Anyway, wishing you a great Monday and beginning to a new week.
Hugs, LYnn
Really Lynn, as if I don’t have enough books, I had to pick that one! All’s well that ends well. Now forget about Christmas or Valentine’s day, we need to get into Spring mode. This week I finally found my Spring. Do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day?
Love can be a battle but your hearts are precious. I anxiously followed the instructions as I wanted to know how you fixed the red coming though. It looks beautiful. I love the rustic look and and layering of the hearts. How how appropriate that you choose the heart as the February project.
Thank you Debra! It wasn’t so much the red coming through as it was the offensive words on the first printed heart. But I showed them!
Very poetic. Most of us probably have some small battles ragging in the corners of our hearts. ๐ I was reading the text before you covered it up. It was interesting but choosing to cover it up is even more interesting. Which made me laugh. It turned out nice.
Now what if I tried to give it to my husband for a gift, what would the man say to those sentiments as it was before?? It absolutely had to be convered Krista!
It looks great, and I like that you used something you already had around. This would be great for Valentine’s Day.
I was originally thinking of that… till I saw the offensive print. So then I changed it up and by the time I did that Valentine’s was over. Right now it’s hanging over my fireplace.
Mary, haven’t you heard? “Love is a battlefield.” Hahaha. So according to Pat Benatar your heart page is the perfect piece. Anyway, love your hearts!! I love how you take what you already have and make it new again!! Isn’t it funny how you start working on something and suddenly there’s more meaning to it than maybe you set out to put into it. You’re a true artist Mary!! Love how you layered these hearts!! This looks great!!
Keri you are killing me with this one! I think that is the fun of doing projects you start out with something but never know where you’ll end up. So you have to roll with it. When life gives you lemons you make lemonade!
A heart within a heart within a heart…love it Mary! Like Keri, I thought of Pat Benetar’s song too. Another beautiful Christmas gift!
So I’m thinking I should retitle the post and make it into Pat’s song. It would only be fitting. Marie pretty soon my Santa’s bag is going to be full!
Love your hearts Mary…they turned out very great…love covers a multitude of messes!!! ๐
Yes Michelle, it does cover a multitude of messes. I can’t believe I missed that one. I’ve also done other decoupage projects where I’ve carefully picked out the pages to be added. So this was totally unlike me. I guess in my excitement I wasn’t paying attention.
What an adorable heart sign and lovely gift! I did try to read what was written on the heart and it was so clever of you to cover it up with another heart and then another. Makes for a wonderful lasting sentiment anytime of the year!
Gail I had to cover it up and quickly. We did not want any negativity to seep onto the heart. I also thought that it was versitile enough for the whole year. Thank you for your sweet comment.
Oh these are really pretty! I am not at all crafty but wish that I was! Thanks for sharing! #manicmondays
Thank you for visiting, these are actually very easy to make.
You did a pretty job here, Mary! I didn’t notice the wording before you talked about it, but you know the saying “all is fair in love and war” so your solution makes it even prettier. It will be a great addition to your Christmas decor next year, or you can use it all year round too!
Thanks friend for the idea! I wouldn’t have thought to use it like this if it wasn’t for your original project.
Mary, I love it…what I love most is how you thought on your feet to change a project that you didn’t like. I would have wound up cussing and mumbling to myself while I threw it in a closet or the trash and gave up. Beautiful job, doll!
Regina this actually happens quite often. I start out with an idea and then have to change it as you go on. It keeps me on my toes!
I love how this turned out, Mary! I’ve also learned to read what’s on the book page before using it for a craft or you could end up with some weird stuff, lol. I love how you improvised and added more little hearts. The layers of hearts on top make it look even better!
That’s the fun of crafting Celeste. We have to go with what is thrown at us in unexpected moments. But you already knew that! ๐
That’s a neat idea, although I couldn’t handle Christmas all year around, lol.
Your heart looks so rustic, I love it! How do you come up with everything you do? ๐
Jas, since spend a lot of time visiting other blogs, I am saturated with creativity all day long. So my mind was forced to expand. lol. I never would have been able to think this way a year ago. There is so much talent out there.
What a pretty heart Mary! I love the rustic look of the heart and the way you used the different layers of hearts. Great idea starting making your Christmas presents.
Thank you Linda. We’ll see how foar I get with this Christmas idea. Hope fully I’ll actually be able to give some of these as gifts instead of hoarding them for myself.
What a great idea! Both the upcycled heart and making 1 gift per month. Perhaps the heart should go back to the little darlings who recreated Mom’s pretty item into pieces? LOL.. We lived that too. I can’t tell you how many items are super glued in this house!
Wendi, there’s a great idea. I should give this to my sons, because you know boys are such lovers of destruction.
That’s so romantic and cool as a gift! The actual text could be your little secret! Well done!
I’ll be sure to keep it a secret all right, don’t want to upset anyone. wink!
That is a very creative idea to make 12 gifts for 12 months! Unfortunately, I’m not very crafty but it has inspired me to pick up a gift per month for each of my two boys. I don’t know why I never thought of it before. A really great idea! Thanks so much for linking up with me at #manicmonday
It sure keeps me busy all year long. And yes if you are not crafty you can buy a gift each month, although some of these are pretty easy to do.
What a lovely idea. It is so cute. Pinned and shared. Thanks for linking up at #overthemoon! I hope you will join me at #thursdayfavoritethings.
Thank you Marilyn. I will definitely be there every week.
Great save, Mary! I love your gift a month plan! Thank you for sharing @Vintage Charm!
Thanks Cecilia, this was a fun project to do.
What a lovely way to reuse the heart! I like the way you layered the book page hearts, too! Thank you for sharing with Merry Monday; I hope you’ll link up with us again this coming week!
Emily I had to save this fail by layering it, but it looks nice like that even without the fail. Thanks for stopping by.
lol, Mary! I’m rolling about the battle raging on the book page and the your personal battle to extinguish it! The finished project is adorable and will make a lovely gift for someone. I think you should print a copy of the blog post and attach it to the back, because the history of this gift is as important as the gift itself ๐ Thanks for sharing with us at Snickerdoodle Sunday! Hope you have a wonderful week!
~Laurie
Laurie, that is such a great idea! I will most definitely do that. And I’ll give it to those boys that wrecked…ehhhm, transformed it. (wink)
How lovely. I love the layers of hearts on hearts. Really creative. Much nicer to cover up the words that you didn’t want to see.
Sally @ Life Loving
#LifeLovingLinkie
I agree with you Sally. I had to hide those words and qickly because there was no love and peace in them at all.
Mary, I love how you can see the beauty in a scrap of wood. The rustic edges of the heart make this a treasured piece. When I was reading through your post I read the words on the heart cut out and I giggled, I should have known better you had already solved the issue of battles on the heart! Lol I love the idea of making gifts the whole year through to make the holiday a little less stressful. Anyone would love to have this heart in their home.
Thanks Nikki. I have to say I did not expect to get into such a battle with those words. You tear out a piece of paper and think all is innocent and then this happens. There was no love on that page at all. lol
This is sooooooo cute! I just love heart shaped crafts! And the way you layered the different papers makes it even better!
Thank you T’onna for your sweet words. The layers have to be there to hide the battle underneath. But yes they do look nice and add richness to the heart.
No such thing as too many hearts…no matter the reason! ๐ Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Kim! I agree with you hearts are perfect all year long.
At first I thought the page was from Harry Potter because of the name Dobbins, but of course it was Dobby, not Dobbins. I’m so glad you could rescue the wood from the broken old basket.
Stella I just saw this almost one year later. Thanks for the comment and I have to admit it would have been so much fun had it been Harry Potter.
Oops, sometimes little mistakes are a good thing because your heart looks so much better with all the layered hearts. It’s almost as if you need to peel the layers back to expose what the message is hiding. I love it Mary
This one was truly special. I gave it to one of my boys so he can remember me.
I love the addition of the book page even if it is about war. It gives the heart a vintage look. Great project!
Thanks Sherry this one is special to me because it was given to a family member.
Mary, this reminds very much of Decoupage, so very similar. They are precious! Love your style.
Maria
That is exactly what it is Maria. It was a fun whimsical piece I put together.
