I'm on the Top of the World -Στην Κορυφή του Κόσμου

Do any of you remember that song from the Carpenters back in the 70’s… Of course I was just a baby back then “wink”. It goes like this:

Μήπως κάποιοι από εσάς θυμάστε αυτό το τραγούδι από τους Carpenters από την δεκαετία του 70 … Φυσικά ήμουν μόνο ένα μωρό τότε “κλείνω το μάτι”. Πήγαινε κάπως έτσι:

I’m on the top of the world
Looking down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I’ve found
Ever since you’ve been around
Your love’s put me at the top of the world!

I’ve taken you tothe beach and to the olive groves but today we are going up, up, up! Let’s start from the top or in this case from the bottom. I took a trip with the hubs to the mountains but it was a few hours before sunset. Not that we could tell because it was raining. We started from the bottom and drove up the mountains.

Σας έχω πάρει μαζί μου στην παραλία και τους ελαιώνες, αλλά σήμερα θα πάμε ψηλά!

Ας ξεκινήσουμε από την κορυφή ή στην περίπτωση αυτή από κάτω. Έκανα ένα ταξίδι με τον σύζυγο στα βουνά, αλλά ήταν λίγες ώρες πριν το ηλιοβασίλεμα. Όχι ότι θα μπορούσα να το δω, επειδή έβρεχε. Ξεκινήσαμε από το κάτω μέρος και ανεβήκαμε πάνω στα βουνά.

Up we went and left the clouds below us.

Όπως ανεβαίναμε, αφήvαμε τα σύννεφα από κάτω μας.

Usually when we take mountain trips we look down, this time I thought I’d look up at the heavens… for a change.

Συνήθως όταν ανεβαίνουμε στο βουνό κοιτάμε προς τα κάτω, αυτή τη φορά σκέφτηκα να κοιτάζω τον ουρανό … για μια αλλαγή.

And just as the sun was going down.. we had magic! God had shined a light into the heavens!

Και όπως ο ήλιος έπεφτε .. ηταν μαγίκο! Ο Θεός έλαμψε ένα φως στον ουρανό!

For those few hours I felt as if I was on top of the world! It was such an exhilαrating feeling, it cannot be described in words. I don’t think my photos do it justice either. Sometimes you just need to be there.

Για εκείνες τις λίγες ώρες ένιωσα σαν να ήμουν στην κορυφή του κόσμου! Ήταν μια τέτοια συναρπαστική αίσθηση, δεν περιγράφετε με λόγια. Νομίζω ότι οι φωτογραφίες μου το αδικούν. Μερικές φορές το μόνο που χρειάζεται είναι να είσαι εκεί.

Ευχαριστώ τον σύζυγο που μου έδωσε αυτή τη μοναδική εμπειρία ζωής !!

Such a lovely view you had Mary! I adore the ethereal look of the clouds as they disappeared a bit over the mountains. I can only imagine what people have felt when they climb Mt. Everest! It was fortuitous you took the drive so close to sunset, my favorite time of day. xxx
