Sharing is caring!
With Mother’s Day right around the corner I am scheming to get my kids to do right by me this year. I certainly cannot make a gift for myself! But I can ask my talented friends to share their amazing DIY gift ideas for Mother’s Day with all of us.
Hopefully this will inspire some members of your family, and primarily mine, to get going and pamper mom on Mother’s Day with a nice homemade gift or two. Because that’s what this mom really wants!
There is no better way to serve breakfast in bed to your mom than with this pretty colorful tray makeover from Debra of Shoppe No. 5.
Oh and just in case you forget I want pancakes on my tray please!
And because we don’t want mom’s tray or nightstand to get dirty, we can use these cute rope wrapped wooden coasters from Katrin of KreativK. My morning beverage of choice is a double mug of Greek coffee, the kind that will grow hair on your chest, or help a blogger to get moving in the morning!

It’s time for mom to get ready. You show her the brand new earring holder you made for her, so she will never lose her earrings like I do all the time. This particular one was handmade by your’s truly. Of course it would not hurt one bit if you were to add some more bling to the collection! And look at this, a jewelry making kit so I can make my own! Yes, please!
And because that is not enough you will also give mom some flowers. But not just any flowers, they must be in a cup and saucer just like Pam of House of Hawthornes made them. Aren’t these adorable?
And now that mom is feeling full of herself, you can escort her out to the garden to admire this new herb garden in a burlap sack that you are going to make for me, er, her. Patti of Hearth and Vine will provide you with the tutorial. Maybe mom will even do some gardening, for fun.
Once back indoors, mom will want to wipe her hands to clean off the soil. And you will be there to present her with these lovely handmade towels that Lisa of the Purple Hydrangea was kind enough to give us the how-to.
Now it’s time to set the table. And that means having the right ambiance. A scented candle with a pretty bee stencil will do wonder’s for mom’s mood. Amy of Stow and Tell U will help you with this project. And make sure you make more than one because mom loves these candles.
That herb garden that you so lovingly prepared will come in handy for when you make mom’s meal. This Chicken Pizziola recipe is straight from Kim of Exquisitely Unremarkable. It was originally her mom’s and moms know what’s best!
And don’t be too stingy with the cheese.
Of course I’ll eat too much…
Mom will be stuffed now so get her some pillows that you so lovingly made and let her rest on the couch. And make sure you point out that the pillows have vintage french script bird prints. She will be very impressed with your handiwork and you in turn will thank Debbie of Confessions of a Plate Addict for the tutorial.
After a good nap, mom will be ready for some more gifts. This one by Pili of Sweet Things will surely bring tears to her eyes. Is there anything more sentimental than reminding mom of your childhood years when you were a cute toddler? Just don’t mention the terrible twos or the dirty diapers.
But enough with the nostalgia. It’s time for a practical gift. And these salt scrubs by Nancy of Artsy Chicks Rule are just what she needs. No need to remind her that all that time in the garden or the farm is making her skin rough, these should definitely do the trick. Of course you could also help her when she’s planting, but that is another matter…
Mom has been pampered all day. Or at least, she should be…
And it is time to end the day on a happy and relaxing note with this special candle that you have made just for her.
Michelle of A Crafty Mix made one for her mom and someone should make one for me too!
Well I think I have whined enough for today in the guise of being helpful and giving you all DIY gift ideas for how to pamper mom on Mother’s Day. I want to thank all of my talented friends for allowing me to share their ideas with you.
I hope you all have a lovely Mother’s Day with your mother, grandmother, aunt, or any loved family member.
Have I dropped enough hints?

This is a great roundup and I hope you have a fantastic Mother’s Day!
I love your picks Mary. And when you come to visit me, I’ll be sure to have pancakes and coffee!
🙂 gwingal
Beautiful gift ideas all of them. My kids will do good if they phone me. I’m not expecting anything because it seems like it’s not that important to them. It sure is important to me though. A phone call would mean the world. I don’t need gifts, but give me your time and I’m ecsatatic. My kids all make great money, so sending gifts means getting their secretaries to send something, that’s why I’d rather talk to them…..oh well maybe next year.
OMG, I laughed out loud at the coffee that grows chest-hair, ha ha ha. Sounds like the coffee we drink back home.
Those are all wonderful ideas, Mary! I’ll be alone this Mother’s Day as my daughter decided to go on vacation with her family. How dare she? LOL
Wishing you a wonderful Mother’s Day and no hair on your chest.
Forwarding to my family…maybe they’ll take the hint.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Hugs…Lynn
Mary, this would be a wonderful Mother’s Day wouldn’t it? Each of these items would make it so special. With my love of gardening I would really love that burlap planter or the teacups with the flowers! I need to get looking for some of those cups at garage or estate sales, they are so pretty! Happy Mother’s Day to you. <3
Mary, I love your roundup! And your sense of humor 🙂 My favorites are… probably the salt scrub, the flower cups and the jewellery holder! But everything you showed looks adorable, so it’s hard to choose.
Personally, I will make some strawberry scones with strawberry rhubarb jam for our picnic on Sunday, and also either a homemade scrub, a body lotion or a pretty plant. We’ll see!

I would love some pancakes too, even better served on Debra’s beautiful tray. The French pillows would be one of my favorites, I used to be obsessed with that fabric I even found a US provider that sold it really cheap. Than you so much for including mine too
