Hello everyone. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter holiday! I am preparing for mine as we speak. Our Orthodox Easter is one week later this year. While doing some Spring cleaning this past week I came upon this sad sack box.
I had some antique white craft paint lying around and it was screaming to be used…. so I decided to liven up that box. I slathered on the paint, in selected areas.
I let it sit for a minute and then vigorously rubbed off the excess.
This process brought out the wood carving of the box. Now it has a weathered look to it, and is certainly much more interesting than in its former life.

This was a mini project that was very simple and yet it made quite a difference. Don’t you think?
Αυτό ήταν ένα μικρό έργο που ήταν πολύ απλό και όμως έκανε μεγάλη διαφορά. Δεν νομίζετε;

Great project. And isn't this a great lesson - sometimes you have to add something so you can see the beauty that was there before. The value of the box hasn't changed but it's now more inviting. (Forgive me. I just came from a marketing class) I hope you'll check out my blog too and maybe follow me. I'll follow you too. Http://runwright.net

Hi Karen, I just came back from your blog, and I am following you all over the place. Because you are a New Yorker, and I have a soft spot for them.. Also you are a writer, if I can tell by the tone in your blog. I love to read, so I'll be popping up in there.

Jamie, I am so happy with it, now I need to find a use for it instead of just decoration.
