Wall Hanging

Today I thought I’d share a  wall hanging I made about a year ago.   I live in a very earthquake prone area, so it is not an option for me to put just anything up on the wall, as it may very well come falling down.  I had placed a couple of picture frames over my bed but of course that didn’t last long.  However, it did not look right with nothing over the bed.  Too much empty wall space.  So I came up with this idea:

This is just a piece of fabric I had lying around.  I created a border for it with  beige and off white fabric and simply made a loop on the top in order to hang it.

I used a very simple IKEA curtain rod (which I think is no longer available)  to hang it.  It is very lightweight  so if it comes tumbling down there is no harm done.

It certainly looks much nicer than a blank wall!!

Well that is my tip for today for those of you who live on “shaky ground”, or even if you just have a piece of fabric that you like and would like to display.  This can be an alternative to putting it on a frame.  Let me know what you think.

Nellie, thank you for visiting my little slice of blogland. I desperately needed to put something over bed that would not come crashing down on me and do me in!
