The Cinderella  Bag – Η Τσάντα της Σταχτοπούτας

Sharing is caring!

No, you have not stumbled into the wrong blog. If you follow me at all,  you know that I am moving into unknown territory here, because I never blog about fashion.  And yet, this post is about using our smarts to come up with last minute solutions.  A re purpose that is right up my alley – thus a Cinderella transformation!!

I went to a wedding yesterday with my family. We had the best time and the bride was a dream!  But getting ready for these occasions can be a bit nerve wracking.  As you all know I have 2 daughters and we had to check on the dresses and the accessories.  We had gotten ready when at the last  minute we realized that we needed a small bag for the daughter who whould be wearing a deep pink dress.  Here is what I found as a substitute.

It is a small cosmetics bag. The color was right but I really did not like the abstract art vibe on the side panels.  I used nail polish to add a bit of pearly glitter to  the sides.

Looking better already.  I then took some fake pearls and twisted them together to make a fancy strap for the “new” bag.

I sewed the pearl strap to the sides of the bag and I was done.  You can also glue it on.

This is the final result. Looks pretty elegant don’t you think?

Αυτό είναι το τελικό αποτέλεσμα. Φαίνεται πολύ κομψό, δεν νομίζετε;

For me this was a great solution to a pesky problem  (and one that I did not even know of till the last minute).  I wanted something nice, but did not have the time nor the desire to spend money on a bag that she will only use with this dress. So by repurposing this cosmetics bag, I was able to spare myself a trip to the store and spare my pocketbook. And I think it turned out quite well…plus I finally got to use  those pearl necklaces that were collecting dust in a drawer. A Cinderella bag never looked so good on such a small budget.

Special thanks to my beautiful bride who is also the creator of the favors “Glam et Chic”.
