The Chalkboard Fall Vignette - Φθινοπωρινή βινιέτα

Autumn is here in full swing.  The days are getting colder and I still have not started decorating for this, my favorite season.  I needed a quick fix to get me in the Fall mood.   This is the first thing that caught my eye. What attracted me to this bottle was the orange plastic on top.  It looks kinda pumpkinish.  So why not turn it into a pumpkin?

Το φθινόπωρο είναι εδώ σε πλήρη εξέλιξη. Οι μέρες γίνονται όλο και πιο κρύες και εγώ ακόμα δεν έχω αρχίσει τη διακόσμηση για την αγαπημένη μου εποχή. Χρειαζόμουν μια γρήγορη λύση για να μπω σε φθινοπωρινή διάθεση. Αυτό είναι το πρώτο πράγμα που τράβηξε την προσοχή μου. Το μπουκάλι εχει ένα πορτοκαλί  πλαστικό στην κορυφή. Μοιάζει κάπως σαν κολοκύθα. Γιατί λοιπόν να μην μετατραπεί σε κολοκύθα;

Using black chalkboard paint, I painted the labels.   Once they had dried I simply prepared them by using chalk all over and wiping it clean. Then it was time to draw an image and play.

I found another bottle along the way and painted it the same way.

Βρήκα κι’άλλο μπουκάλι και το ζωγράφισα με τον ίδιο τρόπο.

The bottle on the right was made using coriander seeds. Just glue them on.

Το μπουκάλι δεξιά έγινε χρησιμοποιώντας κόλιανδρο.

And for Halloween, just turn the bottles backward and …Boo!

Και για τις Απόκριες, γυρίστε τα μπουκάλια προς τα πίσω και … Boo!

I get two looks for the price of one!  Actually the possibilities are infinite since it’s a blackboard, I can erase and write whatever I want.  Maybe I will even use them for Winter decorating.  And it was done very frugally.  What do you think of my little Fall vignette?

Παίρνω δύο για την τιμή του ενός! Στην πραγματικότητα, οι δυνατότητες είναι άπειρες αφού  είναι ένας μαυροπίνακας, μπορώ να διαγράψω και να γράψω ότι θέλω. Ίσως θα τα χρησιμοποιήσω ακόμη και για τη χειμωνιάτικη διακόσμηση. Και έγινε πολύ οικονομικά. Τι γνώμη έχετε για την  Φθινοπωρινή  βινιέτα μου;

  10. These wine bottles are so cute and creative, I will have to try some of my own! And they will pair perfectly with my wine cork pumpkins!

    1. Celest they will look perfect with your cork pumpkins (I just took a sneak peak at them). You can write with orange chalk on the labels to match your pumpkins.

  11. You can turn anything into a treasure now, can’t you? I love it! How fun that you can write whatever you want on the bottle label, any holiday, or make it an olive oil bottle, or…well, I’m sure you have more ideas than I do! You’re the creative one!

    1. Nikki, we have other big, humongous bottles for the olive oil. Come to think of it, we also have big bottles for the wine. I guess we we are a nation of “large” personalities! lol. I am going to work on correcting that situation with the e-mail replies.Thanks.

  12. What a clever idea – Thanks for linking up to Pin Worthy Wednesday, I have pinned your post to the Pin Worthy Wednesday Pinterest Board.

    1. Jill I am always happy when I inspire someone else. This really is a very simple idea and very practical too.

  13. I always feel bad when I throw empty wine bottles into the recycle bin. It seems like I should be doing something crafty with them instead. Now, I know what I can use them for!!

  14. The coriander seeds are a brilliant idea. They add such a gorgeous texture to the bottle Mary, I love it. I really appreciate how you made one item serve for two seasons, that is always the best plan. Very pretty setting, Pinning.

    1. Leanna I had made that coriander bottle years ago and it really stood up to time. It is full of texture but hard to handle.

  15. I’m so glad that you found some fun bottles to bring fall in to your home! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
    Jann
