Της μικρότερης κόρης μου η φίλη είχε τα γενέθλιά της πριν από λίγες ημέρες (Χρόνια Πολλά στην αγαπημένη μου Συγγραφέας), και ήθελε να της κάνει ένα ιδιαίτερο δώρο. Πρότεινα να φτιάξει ένα υπέροχο ξύλινο κουτί που είχαμε και να το γεμίσει με δωράκια.
Το εσωτερικό ήταν βαμμένο λευκό, αλλά με έναν τρόπο ώσπου να φαίνεται φθαρμένο, να έχει την αίσθηση ότι υπήρχε για πολλά χρονιά.
Στην κορυφή του κουτιού, έκανε decoupage μια σελίδα από ένα βιβλίο (η φίλη της είναι ένας συγγραφέας), και αυτή η διαδικασία επαναλήφθηκε στο κάτω μέρος του εσωτερικού του κουτιού.
Το μόνο που χρειαζόταν ήταν να προσθέσει κάποιες εκπλήξεις στο εσωτερικό. Ζωγράφισε ένα βάζο το ίδιο μπλε, πρόσθεσε μια κορδέλα και έβαλε ένα σωρό εμπνευσμένα αποσπάσματα - γιατί συγγραφείς και καλλιτέχνες περνάνε απουσία έμπνευσης που και που, οπότε γιατί να μην βοηθήσει! Επίσης
της έδωσε ένα υπέροχο σημειωματάριο. Και τέλος, επειδή οι συγγραφείς πρέπει να διαβάζουν πάνω απ ‘όλα, έκανε σελιδοδείκτες για τη φίλη της.
Χαίρομε να πω ότι το δώρο ήταν μια τεράστια επιτυχία. Θα τολμούσα ακόμη να πω ότι ήταν ακόμα καλύτερα από ότι ένα δώρο αγορασμένο από κατάστημα

This is wonderful! My daughters and I started a tradition a few years ago that we give each other one handmade gift at Christmas. We can give whatever else we want but we do one that is handmade. I think you just gave me the idea I need for this Christmas! LOVE IT!
