Today I am going to show you how I revamped the olive oil barrels.
;

Mary, the repurposed barrels are so pretty!! Love the beautiful designs you painted on them!!
Keri, my husband had those in the basment for years and I bought them up to use as tables. Also they are great for storing things inside. They just needed a little love.
What a gold mine you found in your basement and on the farm! Love how you repurposed them for your porch and home! Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you Michelle. That basement is just full of treasures.
What a great idea Mary – I love the grey one – understated and a little bit funky. You are so clever with all the things you revamp and bring back to life x
Leanne it’s either upcycle them or throw them away, and you know I can’t bear to do that. Thanks for the visit.
I love the different styles of decoration that you painted on your olive oil barrels. They make great little side tables for porch, patio, or lawn.
They are big and sturdy. Carol my balcony is very windy so these really stand up to all the blowing.
I saw your link at the Over The Moon party and thought I’d seen all your posts but apparently this must’ve been before I discovered your blog. What a great idea to paint old olive barrels and use them as side tables on your balcony – so pretty! Now I can only imagine you hauling this up from your basement, grunting and groaning the whole way up. What us DIYers will do for a project. Pinned 🙂
Yep Marie, I was a lot slimmer back then. I actually used to do projects instead of sit in front of the computer all day. Lol!
Great ideas! They look great also. 🙂
Thank you Joy!
These barrels look so cool, I love you classy new grey one but I also love the flowers on your earlier work! What a great lesson in using what you have, thanks for sharing with us at #HandmadeMonday
So glad you like them Julie. They are so handy it is not even funny.
Wow, I love those olive oil barrels and how you decorated them.
Hugs,
Bev
They are really practical too Bev!
Mary these are so cute! It totally depends on what your color scheme is now. The gray and white is gorgeous, but I also love color!
🙂 gwingal
Thanks Nikki they have really held up quite well.
I love the idea of taking an item and recreating it into another use. The barrels sure do look elegant after you worked your magic.
I had to find some way to hide the rust. This was in my pre-rust loving days!
These are so different and you’re so good at this!
Thanks Sandra they are great for storage!
Both olive barrels are really pretty, I love the grey one , but I live the flowers on the other one too. Makes for nice little tables for the patio.
That;s exactly what I use them for Linda. And I use them to store cardboard and paper for burning in the fireplace in the winter.
I am a HUGE fan of the fleur de lis! They turned into great outdoor tables/storage. Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm! xo Kathleen|Our Hopeful Home
Nothing escapes me Kathleen. I have to repurpose everything.
I love your new old olive oil barrels! 🙂
Thank you Lina. I also use them for storage so they serve a double function. Those repurposes are the best.
Fabulous way to up cycle what looked like un-salvageable barrels
Thanks Amber. I am so so happy with this one. It turned out to be really great storage.
What a fabulous repurpose of these old olive oil buckets Mary! I love the colours that you chose and that they are great little storage places!
Sam they are now pretty and practical. I store all my old newspapers and cardboard in there to use in the wintertime as fire starters.
I love how you used them on your balcony as end tables! Such a smart idea! Thanks for sharing at The Gathering Place!
Thank you so much Daraka! Congrats on your new party!
I love this creative repurpose, Mary! You turned them into something beautiful and useful!
Thanks Dara, it was certainly better than having them sitting in the basement or the farm. Now they are useful and happy!
Mary….such a great repurpose. I love the color you chose and the stenciled image too. Thanks for sharing with us at Waste Not Wednesday. Hope to see more from you.
Thank you Denise. These poor barrels were going to waste and I’m really glad I got to reuse them again.
I love the vintage olive oil barrels too Mary! Looks like they make great end tables. I say leave them as is. I’ve always loved the funky look. Why make them sophisticated? What do you store in them now?
Florence I like them as is too. I have been storing newspapers and cardboard that we use to start fires in the fireplace in the winter.
can’t believe you just had those lying around! so pretty!!!
When you have a farm, you never know what the grandparents have left behind. Lol!
Very creative, this also helps to protect the environment.
I love what you have done with these barrels! So artistic.
