Almost No-Sew Fleece Pillow
Upcycle some simple fringe fleece scarves into a cozy “almost” no-sew fleece pillow. Perfect for fall and winter decorating or to give as a gift.
Have some fleece scarves that have lost their original shape or usefullness? Why not transform it into a cozy fleece pillow for your couch!

This is a fringed fleece scarf. It has been pulled so much that it goes all the way down to my knees. It was time to find another purpose for it other than taking up space in my dresser.

Basically I just folded the scarf and tie the fringes together.

Here is what they look like.

It’s a little time consuming so you can watch something on tv while tying the fringe. My choice for today was Vampire Diaries… because I have teens!

After tying all the fringe of one side I cut 1/3 of it. I refolded the 2/3rd and tied the bottom fringes. The final step was to add the top part.

And I had a pocket. You can do it any way at all, as long as you are tying the fringes. I did it this way because I wanted that particular shape to my pillow.

I stuffed the pocket with a pillow, and closed it by sewing it. Yes, my method was not a no-sew. You could also use glue.

And here is my almost no-sew fleece pillow.

So I cheated a little, but at least now I’ve got a beautiful and cool almost no-sew fleece pillow to give as a Christmas gift. Who am I kidding: I’m gonna keep it for myself.

This project looks warm and cozy! Thank you for sharing @Vintage Charm!
I have to say Cecilia I was surprised that it turned out so well. Next time I’ll have to look at the scarves more carefully.
This is a great useful tutorial Mary for a no sew pillow. I’ll out it to use when I need it.
Thank you Ilka. I love easy projects and this one has major impact.
Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop
Thank you Betty for stopping by and visiting with me.
Mary, what a great idea to make one gift the month so you’re not scrambling at Christmas time. I wish that I was more proactive in this area, especially when I’m up till all hours of the night on Christmas Eve, and while I’m sleeping through my first cup of coffee on Christmas morning. I love the creativity in this pillow it has such interesting texture and I love the way it looks. I think I need to go find myself a French scarf because I need one of these pillows ASAP!
I cannot fool you Nikki, I am usually not one for doing Christmas so early but these ladies here have a great idea. And if I follow through with it, it’ll be a win-win for me. So why not. I’ll end up with a bunch of useful things for Christmas and if I am so inclined I may even give them as gifts.
This is just too cute! Love it! TFS! Visiting from Make It Pretty Monday.
Thank you Amy. If only I had some more scarves!
Adorable!!
Thanks for sharing at Funtastic Friday!
Thanks Chris, and also super fluffy!
This is a great idea to repurpose an old scarf. That’s very organised of you Mary to start on your Christmas presents already (even if you did keep this one yourself!)

Thanks for the compliment Sally It wasn’t my idea but it’s a great one.
That pillow looks very soft and comfortable. My son has a blanket and pillow in the same material and he loves it, especially in winter. Thank you for sharing!
It is so soft and fluffy almost like a plush toy. I love the way it feels, now my kids have stolen it for their room.
A really good idea and fleece is always so cosy
Yes this one turned out especially cuddly!
Another great project made using something you already have – and what a difference!
I like to make Christmas gifts all year so it’s not a mad rush but then people keep going and having birthdays which messes up my cunning plans! Or worse, like you I decide to keep it for myself.
Julie I ended up keeping this one for myself. It was just too cute and cozy to give away.
How clever! What a great re purpose for the scarf! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
Thank you Marci, it was a fun project.
Great way to use up a scarf. The fringes are cute, I can see it on a little ones bed with some bird embroidered on it. Its really cute Mary.
It has been sitting on my daughter’s bed for over a year now. I try to steal it every once in a while but she won’t let me.
I love this Pillow Mary I just need to find a scarf 🙂
I really love your pillow!!! Cutest thing ever.
What a great idea, Mary–I just love how your pillow turned out. I’ll be keeping my eye out for similar, fringed scarves, for sure! I’m partial to scarf crafts 🙂 Thanks for linking up your project with us at Vintage Charm–
This pillow cover is such a cute idea, Mary! Love the soft fringe and I imagine it is super comfortable to snuggle up with on the sofa… 😉 Happily pinned. <3
Happy New Year's hugs,
Barb 🙂
So very cute. I don’t blame you for keeping it! I would too! thank you for sharing at Celebrate It!
This is super cool! I with I had thought of it! Its a shame you can’t reupholster an old chair by just tying knots in fleece!
That would be a dream project indeed since typing knots is so much easier. Thanks for stopping by.
I love a great up-cycle. I would have never thought to use the scarf for a pillow. Looks great! Happy New Year, Kippi
This one came to me out of the blue, I honestly have no idea how my brain works.
