How to Make Wood look Special with a Decorative Wax

Sharing is caring!

Do you ever mean to do a project but for some reason or other it just seems to end up in the back of the drawer?  Well I had that problem with a small wood box.  I think it is called a treasure box. That poor box got worked on in stages over a period of over three years.  Now that I wrote that, it just sounds pathetic.  But I finally finished it and am ready to share.

But not here.   I am going for a visit to my good friend Deborah of Salvage Sister and Mister.  Her blog is also all about … you guessed it, repurposing and upcycling. She is part of a team and works with her husband Tom to come up with some incredible DIY projects.  So join me over on her blog as we examine the little red box that finally got done.

I actually got to know Deborah very well when she started the awesome Upcycle Sharin group.  It is a community full of ideas and lots of junk that has been transformed into masterpieces.  If you have not heard about this group  yet I urge you to visit and join us.  It is run by a bunch of us bloggers but the community also shares their projects with us and that is what makes it so special. You can check us out here.

Sometimes it’s the little projects that make the biggest impact.  Even if they are years in the making.  You can also buy these treasure boxes below instead of making your own.

Join me over at Salvage Sister and Mister to read my story and how I was able to redeem myself by making that box special with decorative wax.  Or did I?  You be the judge. Then you can tell me if the project is worth all those years it took to complete.

Thank you Florence and to think it was so easy, I really had no excuse to procrastinate that long.

I will go check her out in a minute, but what I can see from the pin is lovely already! You should open a workshop on how to use waxes and paints Mary!

Katrin I love trying out new products. And I suspect if you had given this to me three years ago I wouldn't have known what to do with it. So I guess I just needed to have the skill level for it.

It is amazing that a bit of wax can change an entire project, this box looks totally different and it has a real farmhouse style.

Thank you Pili. It was a sweet revelation for me too. I had never seen white wax before.
