An Almond Wreath for Spring – Το Στεφάνι της Αμυγδαλιάς

Sharing is caring!

Spring is right around the corner and you know what that means.  Yes, I am getting ready by making  a wreath!  Today I am going to show you my Almond Wreath for Spring.

Originally I was going to show you an easy wreath but I changed my mind and went for the other one.  Τhe one that I actually had to work on, the one that inspired me. Because easy is not always rewarding.  I’ve made these types of wreaths before for  Winter,  Fall  and  Summer so it was only fitting that I have a Spring wreath as well.

Since this is a home and Garden blog hop I thought I’d add something from mother nature.  This was my inspiration.

As I am a very thrifty crafter, I started  out with my donut shaped cardboard.

The idea is to wrap the cardboard with different strips of fabric so it is all covered.

With this particular wreath I used some of this fabric which is perfect for spring.

I also used this stripe pattern from an old shirt of mine.  I am a big believer in reusing old clothes, so everything you see here has been repurposed.

A few pieces of crocheting to give it that hand made feel.

And an old bell that once belonged to the sheep, adds the perfect touch of patina.

The greenery came from my very own almond tree.

The wreath is up on my wall and I’m all set to greet Spring in style. Vintage rustic style with a bit of nature in the form of the Almond tree to set the tone.

Ha, Carol they have to come from somewhere. If I'm lucky I go and pick them before they fall to the ground.

Thanks Donna, I try to repurpose as much as possible and be kind to the environment and my pocket. And it's always fun to bring nature indoors.
