Grandfather's Chair - Η Καρέκλα του Παππού

School is finally over!!!  Hooray for me!! (Final Exam time can be so stressful in my house - usually the worst time of the year.)  But now I can relax and enjoy my passion which is working on projects and sharing them with you.  I am working on a few projects right now...but I will have to share those after I am finished.  However I have for you an upcycle that I completed last year.  It was actually one of my first projects, and it inspired me to start upcycling.

This is a chair that had  belonged to my father-in-law.  It has to be vintage. I told my son that he could have it once I fixed it up. I wanted to pass it on from grandfather to grandson.  As  you can see below it had seen better days.

Before, Grandfather's Chair, theboondocksblog.com
 I Spray painted it black because there was no way to hide all the scratch marks.and also because my son has a black desk.  For the seat I reupholstered using fabric from a shirt that had belonged to my son.  It had a masculine quality to it and it is a vast improvement over the green vinyl covering.

Now it looks like a new chair. It's simple and it is perfect for my son's office area.  He likes it, how about you?

Τώρα μοιάζει με μια νέα καρέκλα. Είναι απλή και είναι ιδανική για χώρο του γραφείου του γιου μου. Του αρέσει, εσείς τι λέτε;

I love that you use his shirt for the fabric on the chair makeover, such a great idea. Everybody has something that's kicking around like that. You don't want to toss it because it in good shape or you just love but can't wear any more. So smart!
