Sharing is caring!
You may have gotten an inkling these last few days that I have been painting. Yes, I am re-doing my older daughter’s room. She specifically asked for a blue room – favorite color and all! So out goes the peachy/pink, and in comes the blue!
In this corner we have the hanging area. hence the name Hanging Corner. She usually puts her bags, belts and whatever else she can hang. That is one lovely mess!
What was holding up that mess was a plastic accordion hanger – and not a very sturdy one at that! It was very flimsy. I’m surprised that it lasted for as long as it did.
Now that we are redoing her room, I figured this would be my opportunity to get rid of it or at least re-purpose it elsewhere. So what would be my solution for this “Hanging corner”? Well, a few months ago I had posted about my crib turned into a desk. The link is here. I had one side that I did not use for this project. Here was my inspiration. I snapped this pic on a recent visit to Ikea.
I thought why not use the same idea, but instead of flowers…
We could hang all her things!
I used a variety of hooks from Ikea to hang her things.

There is still lots more room to hang up more stuff. And of course it looks way neater than before. And I was able to re-use the side of the crib which was left over. But the best part is that she really likes it. All in all, I’d say this was a pretty good re-purpose.

This is such a great idea! I would have never thought of creating this! Thank you for sharing your ideas, so others can create something out of a crib that they aren’t using anymore!
We all have lots of pieces of furniture that we are hesitant to get rid of. Especially if we can use them for something as easy as this project.
Wow! That’s a great repurpose! I actually have pieces of an old crib…now I have an idea of how to use it – thanks for the inspiration!
Cecilia it made a huge difference to help clean up that messy corner. I can’t wait to see your project.
That’s a great organizer for a bulky item. Love it!
Well that is just brilliant Mary! The great thing about having stuff on display like this is that you don’t forget what you have and there is more motivation to keep it a tiny bit tidy …. maybe….. or is that just wistful thinking?!!
Great idea Mary! No more clutter. Everything now looks neat and organized.
It was such an easy solution and everything was right there on the wall, no guesswork!
Another great idea-using a crib as a wall hanger!!
This one was so practical I should have thought of it sooner!
What a great idea! It’s so much more stylish (and sturdy!) than the plastic accordion hanger. And I love that you repurposed the side of a crib. Such a great idea!
This one is for you. One day you will have a crib that will be longing for a repurpose. 🙂
This is a fantastic idea and a wonderful way to repurpose, Mary! Thanks for linking up and sharing with us this week! xoxo
Thank you Kristi, after 4 kids it was time for the crib to get a rest.
I love this! I have seen several projects that involved repurposing cribs, but this is one I can actually do! So creative.
And very simple too Brittney, which is what I like in a project. I hope you enjoy yours as much as we have enjoyed using ours.
Great idea to hang your daughter’s bags and hats Mary. I love that you used a crib to do it, so neat! Thanks so much for linking up at Dream. Create. Inspire. Link. I hope you will join us again this Tuesday night! Take care, Tara
Tara, I was so happy to visit your link party! And of course I will be there again on Tuesday! Thanks for visiting my littel piece of blogland!

Yes! That’s what I was going for… no more clutter, just some pretty!
This would work so well in my closet.
Yes, it can be done anywhere and is much better than an accordion hanger because you have more space to work with!
What…….. no ways. How did you come up with such an amazing idea Mary. I love creative storage ideas and this has to be one of the best I’ve seen. So , so cool
Michelle it was a no brainer! I had it left over from the crib that I turned into a desk.
Mary I love crib repurposes and this is fantastic! There’s so much more room and everything is so visible and readily available to grab when heading out the door. Such a clever idea!!
Now she has more room so she can also add more stuff. Because you know kids will do that. 😉
So smart! LOVE the idea so much I’d make a crib hanger like that from scratch Mary! Pinned & shared 🙂
Wendi I know you can whip one up in no time. I am not as skilled so I stick to my repurposing.
So clever and I just love the way it turned out! Thank you for sharing at Celebrate It!
