The Paranoid Man Pumpkin Craft
Here we are halfway into fall and I have not shown you any pumpkin crafts….
Here we are halfway into fall and I have not shown you any pumpkin crafts. Well what kind of fall lover would I be, if I haven’t done a pumpkin craft?
So here it is. My pumpkin. My pride and joy, although it does have a few dents.
And you say “so what, we’ve seen already seen this in your DIY easy Fall eucalyptus vignette”.
Yes, you have. But you haven’t seen my paranoid man pumpkin craft.
But let’s start at the beginning. I have had this bowl sitting in my… no, not the basement. This time it’s the kitchen cabinet. The only problem was that it had a burn in one spot and all the liquids seeped out. So it was pretty useless.
Of course, I kept it around with the intent of repurposing it.
I took a book that I had read years ago and mod podged the bowl with the pages. And in case you’re wondering the book is called “A Man.”
This is a ribbon spool. I placed that inside the bowl…
…and placed my pumpkin inside the bowl, added a fedora and called it a day!
Oh, and let’s not forget his eyes!
The poor pumpkin man looked to his right and there were more pumpkins….
And to his left was another pumpkin… too much competition!
And that evil faced bottle. We’ve seen that before too! Why it’s positively glowering at the pumpkin man.
Pumpkins made with old scarves and stuffed with toilet paper and tissue paper … everyone knows that old trick!
Pumpkins made with fabric scraps, driftwood and dried eucalyptus leaves.
The pumpkin man was not at all happy about this situation. He wanted to be the center of attention!
Would a change of attire help to distinguish him?
Or would he still be outshined by those sassy pumpkins next to him?

Or those dried out leaves which looked like they had turned into leather?
Ohhh, this idea with the black hat was not working!
I guess our paranoid pumpkin man is destined to be squished among the rubble pumpkins.
And so we leave him miserable and all squished, till we can find the paranoid pumpkin man craft another hat that will outshine them all! Which hat do you prefer on the paranoid man pumpkin?

That is so funny!! 🙂 Lisa
That is hilarious! Now that’s thinking outside of the box…ahem…bowl. Thanks for starting my Friday off with a laugh, Mary. Love your fabric pumpkins too.
P.S. your blog is looking awesome ♥ the new template!
The little guy is growing on me , what will I do in November? 😉
How funny Mary! I think the paranoid pumpkin man is cute, I think I like the black hard best, but I will be watching to see if he pops up somewhere else with another hat. Lol
Linda keep your eyes peeled here and you may see him again.
Nice! I vote for gray as well. You should write children’s books 🙂
You thnk so? Maybe I can get a clown suit and it will be a double act with the pumpkin man? haha!
This is such an original craft, and a fun story, too! Your paranoid pumpkin man’s adventures made me giggle. I’d love to see more! (Oh, and I like him in the black hat.)
He looks like a gangster in the black hat, right? But I think he still has a few hat changes to go through before he is done Jenny.
Your paranoid man is hilarious! It is nice to see something different in fall decor.
Michele it is the fault of the bowl. It was the bowl that got me thinking. I really wanted to repurpose it and not just throw it awy and so Paranoid man was born.
You’re too funny Mary! I’m not too fond of fall but this paranoid man is a great idea!! He looks great with both hats, and I admit I didn’t know the trick about the TP roll as a pumpkin. You saved my blogging life this fall!!
That one with the TP rolls is so easy you don’t even need a tutorial for it and the shape is naturally pumpkin.
Good Evening Mary, I love the paranoid pumpkin…. but don’t let him feel outshone by his ‘sassy’ neighbours, how could he be outshone when he is wearing such a stylish grey hat.
This post really put a smile on my face.
Have a lovely evening.
Best Wishes to you.
Daphne
I’m glad you enjoyed it Daphne. I never know where a project will take me when I start. In this case the whole idea was originally based around a bowl. And look where it got me.
Lol, love him! Great job!
Mary, this is so good. I love pumpkin man, very creative.
Kathleen
We’ll have to keep him happy till it’s time for the party.
This is soooo cute!!! I gotta try it!! Thank you! #sustainablesundays
Goodness, Mary….this post was a hoot and a holler. I laughed and giggled all the way through. All your pumpkins are wonderful, but I think I might be in love with your paranoid pumpkin man! Yee-haw!
He is something special that Paranoid man, winning all of our hearts over with that scowl that we can see in his eyes.
Haha! I prefer the black one! He reminds my of an investigator trying to find out what’s up with the other decoration crowd!
Yes he looks like a detective when the hat is pulled down really low, and depending on which angle he is photographed he looks like he is following you with his eyes. That sneaky guy!
Cute idea and too funny! Thanks for linking up to Merry Monday! Pinned to my pumpkin board! Have a great week!
Kim
FYI- I ordered a Cinderella Coach pumpkin kit through your Amazon link. Watch for it!

Mary, what personality! I love your paranoid pumpkin man. Also the ideas! Using a toilet paper roll? Amazing
Debbie he is one special guy! 😉
What a fun display, Mary! I love that little man ~ so cute!
Thank you for sharing this week at Brag About It link party on VMG206 (Mondays at Midnight). I plan to feature you next week!
~ Megin of VMG206
Thanks so much Megin. That should put a smile on this grumpy pumpkin’s face.
Mr. Paranoid Pumpkin is so simple but he has tons of personality.
How fun is this? I love the pumpkin Man, his hat is great, pulled down over his eyes he reminds me of an old time gumshoe detective, trying to watch his target.
I love the story behind it and the vignette that you’ve created. The fabric pumpkins look great nestled together. I love the orange one with the yellow embroidery and the red one is really cool too. I love them all, lol.
You have a knack for tying things together, and I love the spooky story! LOL Can’t wait to see what happens next.
Sometimes the simplist things can have the biggest impact. I did this because I wanted to repurpose that bowl with a hole. And now you see Nikki, it has turned into a series. haha!
Ha ha Mary, I love your pumpkin man … boy you can take this in so many directions … it will be fun to see what you do with him xo
Carla as long as he doesn’t rot I think we can keep him in the storyline, haha!
