How to make a Fun Tube Halloween Wreath

Are you all sick of seeing Halloween decor from me by now?  Well, just in case you aren’t, I have another one for today, but the nice thing is that I am doing this with a group of friends and they are extremely talented.

You won’t see Paranoid Man lurking in their projects.  Today I am going to show you how to make a fun tube Halloween wreath. And after we are done you can join us in the link party below and add your Halloween craft.

I had made a schizophrenic wreath last year which was part fall and part Halloween.  But this year I wanted to make a wreath using unusual material.  I had these tubes at home and really wanted to repurpose them.  I’m not even sure where we got them from.

Plastic Tube, How to make a fun tube Halloween Wreath www.theboondocksblog.com

To secure the hose I used two cable ties.  I pulled hard on them and really secured that hose.

I then covered the tie up with a piece of black fabric and added the former Barbie paddles that I used last in my Christmas in July project.  The good thing about them is that the other side is blackboard and you can draw anything.

I then took a red piece of fabric, because we are anti-orange in this house for Halloween, and wrapped it around the hose.

The next step was easy.  I had a wooden spoon which had a crack down the middle so I painted it using white acrylic paint and then drew a face on with a marker. Then I added a red ribbon and a piece of  twine on the top to attach it to the top of the wreath.

The final step was to add a black sparkly fabric to break up the monotones.

And my quirky wreath is done.  I always look for opportunities to use what I have at home.

Isn’t my little spoon ghost cute?

While photographing the wind blew, one of the hazards of  taking  pictures outdoors.  Here is the back of the paddle with a Christmas scene. But it is fine for us because the blackboard side is so versatile.

And when Halloween is done it will be so easy to update this and use it for another holiday, like Christmas.  “wink”

Of course our grumpy Paranoid Man had to get in on the action.  He is really worried about that scary looking doll.

You never cease to amaze me with both your outside-of-the-box creativity and your reuse of stuff found around the house! Your Halloween wreath is adorable and those paddles could be simply flipped over and ta da, you have yourself a holiday wreath! Pinned to share.
Unfortunately I won’t be participating in the fun linky party because we are the ones on the street (now that we’re empty nesters) to shut off our lights and walk over to our neighborhood pub and pretend Halloween isn’t happening! Hence, I’ve got nothing Halloweenish to share.
